September 4–7: “Mysteries of Sumba Island”

Day 1. Sumba: Kodi.

We meet at Tambolaka Airport at 10:20 AM and immediately set off on our adventure. Our first stop is a turquoise bay where the ocean shimmers in every shade of blue.

Next, we visit the traditional village of Kodi, with its majestic houses and soaring roofs that preserve the spirit of ancient Sumba.

Afterward, we head to a beach framed by picturesque cliffs, and as sunset approaches, we visit one of the island’s most spectacular spots: ocean arches where crashing waves create a mesmerizing spectacle. It is the kind of place where you want to pause time, breathe in the salty breeze, and simply savor the moment.

Day 2. Kambera and Waterfalls.

Early in the morning, we’ll head to one of the island’s most mysterious beaches—a place where wild horses roam amidst the waves and golden sands. If luck is on our side, we’ll see them up close: free, beautiful, and incredibly graceful. And if not, there’s no need to be disappointed; another equally magnificent beach awaits us, offering warm ocean waters, soft sand, the sun on our skin, and time to relax, swim, sunbathe, and capture those breathtaking photos you simply can’t take your eyes off.

After a scenic breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to a spot where emerald rice terraces meet the river and water cascades down in a picturesque little waterfall. Next, we’ll visit another waterfall—a powerful, cascading one that is incredibly photogenic. It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to linger, feel the cool water, and simply lose yourself in the moment. We’ll wrap up the day with a visit to an authentic village, where you can experience the real Sumba—its culture, traditions, and a unique atmosphere that defies description.

Day 3. Hills.

The scenery outside the window gradually shifts: the green hills grow taller, the air turns fresher, and the road leads us into the very heart of the island.

Along the way, we’ll stop at two breathtaking viewpoints—places that make you want to simply stand still and gaze into the distance. Then, we’ll visit one of Sumba’s most extraordinary spots: a beach that looks like something straight out of a fantasy film.

Trees with whimsical shapes rise directly from the crystal-clear water, their silhouettes reflected in the ocean to create a magical atmosphere. It is a place defined by beauty, tranquility, and a sense of freedom—and, of course, by the kind of photos you simply can’t capture anywhere else.

Day 4. Our final morning on Sumba begins at sunrise.

As the island stirs to life, we will head back to one of the trip’s most magical spots: a beach where trees with whimsical shapes rise directly out of the water. The soft morning light creates the most atmospheric and beautiful photos, capturing the serenity and magic of the location.

After a leisurely breakfast, we will make our way to the airport, savoring our last few hours on the island. En route, we’ll stop at a scenic viewpoint to breathe in the vastness one last time and imprint the image of rolling hills and ocean horizons on our memories.

Our flight home departs at 3:15 PM. Yet, you will take home far more than just photographs: memories of Sumba’s wild beauty, a sense of freedom, and moments that will stay with you forever.
